Nicole D. Galli focuses her practice on commercial litigation, including all forms of intellectual property (IP) litigation, and IP counseling, especially regarding trade secret protection.

Ms. Galli has litigated, through trial, a wide variety of IP and business disputes for clients in federal and state courts, administrative forums, and arbitration venues throughout the nation. She has worked in both litigation and counseling capacities with clients in numerous industries including medical devices, diagnostic testing, pharmaceuticals, software, consumer electronics, consumer products, automotive, energy, hospitality, food and beverage, construction, manufacturing, health care, marketing and other service providers. Clients range from individuals and small start-up companies to the largest national and international companies, including a number of cultural institutions and other non-profits. After having spent over two decades in two AmLaw 100 firms, an intellectual property boutique firm, and a full-service regional firm, Ms. Galli founded the Law Offices of N.D. Galli LLC in 2015 to provide clients with sophisticated, first-in-class legal services in an innovative, customized, and efficient manner that best suits their business needs.

Professional & Community Activities

Ms. Galli has a long history of giving back to the community and the profession.

Women Owned Law  Ms. Galli founded Women Owned Law (WOL), the first national network organization for women owned law and legal services firms. WOL empowers women entrepreneurs to revolutionize the business of law through network building, education and other resources and advocacy in the marketplace. With a soft launch in the fall of 2016 that started in Philadelphia with a group of 8 women, WOL has approximately 150 members throughout the United States.

Intellectual Property and Trade Secrets  Ms. Galli is a member of the American Bar Association, where she served as the CLE Officer of the Section of Intellectual Property Law from 2016 to 2018. Ms. Galli is currently one of the IP Section’s Liaisons to the Licensing Executives Society’s IP Management Standards Setting Project, which is specifically focused on protecting trade secrets and other IP in the supply chain. She also serves on the IP Section's Trade Secrets Committee and is one of the co-chairs of the Trade Secrets sub-committees of the ABA Litigation Section's IP Litigation and Business Torts Committees.

Ms. Galli is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and serves as a co-chair of the Trade Secrets Committee's special subcommittee on containment injunctions in trade secrets misappropriation cases.

Sedona Conference Working Group 12 (Trade Secrets)  In the winter of 2017, Ms. Galli participated in the first, invitation-only Sedona Conference on Trade Secrets and is a founding member of the new Sedona Conference Working Group 12 (Trade Secret) that launched in 2018. Ms. Galli co-chairs the Sedona WG12 subteam on the governance and management of trade secrets.

The Equity Project  Ms. Galli also serves as one of the “Equity Project Champions,” group of corporate and law firm leaders who spread awareness of the “Equity Project.” The Equity Project is a groundbreaking initiative of Burford Capital, a leading global finance and investment management firm focused on law, designed to help close the gender gap in law by providing an economic incentive for change through a $50 million pool of capital earmarked for financing commercial litigation matters led by women.

Additional Activities  Ms. Galli is a member of the Board of Directors of the Forum of Executive Women, where she also chairs the Committee overseeing the Forum Award for Emerging Women Leaders. Ms. Galli is also Chair of the Advisory Board of the Professional Women’s Roundtable, a networking group for emerging women leaders that she co-founded in 2002. Ms. Galli is co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Chancellor's Mentoring and Professional Development Initiative. Ms. Galli is also a member of Select Counsel, the Intangible Law Network and the Justinian Society and serves as a Democratic committee person for the second division of the Eighth Ward in Philadelphia.

Nicole is a frequent speaker, author and thought leader on issues impacting women attorneys and entrepreneurs, as well as on various legal topics including intellectual property strategy, trade secrets protection and litigation, trademark, copyright and patent law and litigation, commercial litigation best practices and procedural matters, and litigation financing.

Nancy Saltzman is an accomplished corporate attorney and legal advisor with more than 20 years of experience both as outside counsel and in-house as General Counsel advising companies of all sizes ranging from small startups to established medium sized business and large global enterprises. She wields a keen understanding of the operational, financial, strategic and regulatory issues that are top-of-mind for Boards of Directors and C-Suite Executives. Ms. Saltzman focuses on helping her clients identify and execute pragmatic solutions that enable and accelerate the achievement of their strategic goals.

Ms. Saltzman is a skilled negotiator and routinely assists with the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements ranging from MSAs and NDAs to complex commercial agreements, intellectual property rights and licensing and SaaS and cloud services and solutions. She also advises on a wide range of employee relations issues from routine matters such as employment agreements, training, benefits and stock incentive and equity plans to disciplinary issues, complaints and investigations and even class action lawsuits. Ms. Saltzman also has extensive transactional experience and has negotiated and helped her clients to close mergers and acquisitions and strategic partnerships on four continents ranging in size from $15M to over $500M.

Ms. Saltzman has deep knowledge and experience in the fields of Healthcare, Insurance, Data Analytics and Technology, gained from both the early days in her legal career working with insurance clients in the life, health, property and casualty markets to her various management and executive roles at two publicly traded companies. She is also a recognized leader in the fields of Data Privacy and Cybersecurity, FCPA, UK Bribery Act, OFAC and OECD compliance and has spoken on these topics at CLE events and trade conferences. She also focuses on Board and Corporate governance and regularly advises Boards and Governance, Compensation and Audit Committees regarding execution of fiduciary duty, best practices in Board Governance and Committee charter compliance.

Most recently, Nancy served as the General Counsel of ExlService Holdings (NASDAQ: EXLS), where she collaborated with teams of data scientists providing end-to-end data-driven insights from data management and warehousing to predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, and robotics solutions. Prior to that, Nancy spent almost 10 years as the General Counsel of Westcon Group, Inc., a $5 billion global technology distributor, where she facilitated the company’s partnerships with the top 200 global technology manufacturers to distribute and sell their products worldwide. Nancy began her legal career as a corporate attorney with Dewey Ballantine LLP, and spent several years as the Associate General Counsel and Vice President of Investor Relations for Chartwell Re Corporation, a publicly traded property and casualty reinsurer.

Professional & Community Activities

Ms. Saltzman is member of the New York Advisory Board of iMentor, a not-for-profit organization that builds mentoring relationships that empower first-generation students from low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions. iMentor matches every student in its high school program with a committed college-educated mentor, equipped to guide that young person on their journey to college graduation. For the past three years Ms. Saltzman has been a mentor to a high school student at the Bronx High School of Law and Community.

Ms. Saltzman is involved with Student Advocacy, a not-for-profit organization that provides an effective voice for children who face significant obstacles in school, so they receive the resources they need to succeed educationally and rediscover their lives. This year she was a member of the selection committee responsible for choosing the recipients for the 2019 OTO or Overcoming the Odds awards. The Overcoming the Odds Award program was created by Student Advocacy in 1996 and each year four honorees are recognized for their achievement in overcoming obstacles which may include physical or medical challenges, family or social challenges or other disability challenges.

Ms. Saltzman also serves as a member of the Advisory Board of Women Owned Law.

Charles P. Goodwin focuses his practice with the Law Offices of N.D. Galli LLC on commercial litigation in federal and state courts, including intellectual property, breach of contract and other commercial litigation matters. His commercial litigation experience also includes other complex commercial litigation such as competition and antitrust law, class actions, securities litigation, franchise litigation and legal malpractice claims.

Mr. Goodwin previously was associated for over twenty years with a nationally recognized complex litigation boutique in Philadelphia, where he was a partner for the last ten years of his tenure there. In 2014, he opened his own firm, the Law Offices of Charles P. Goodwin, where he continues his commercial litigation practice. Mr. Goodwin’s firm also represents public officials and candidates for elective office, and handles alcohol beverage licensure and zoning matters, among others.

Mr. Goodwin is President Emeritus of the Center City Residents Association. He also serves as a Democratic committee person for the second division of the Eighth Ward in Philadelphia.
